‘Arrow’: ‘So It Begins’ Review

Arrow has a new big bad this year, a mystery archer by the name of Prometheus and while he has been going after the Green Arrow since the premiere, Oliver Queen only learned about his existence as of last week.

Tobias Church revealed before he was knocked out that Prometheus is coming for him and this week, it was time to hunt the new baddie. But Prometheus is upping his game while Oliver tries to find him as the sinister archer begins to kill people and making Green Arrow look like the serial killer that is running around in Star City.

However, the new team members take issue with Oliver when he keeps insisting on not letting the newbies in on everything that’s happening. They also discover the type of hero that Oliver used to be back when he first begun, which troubles them big time. Evelyn/Artemis however struggles to accept Oliver’s methods and decides to take on Prometheus alone.

In the Russian flashbacks this week, Oliver finally meets Konstantin Kovar (guest star The Expendables’ Dolph Lundgren) after a undercover mission goes wrong and while Kovar kills Oliver’s partner, he lets Oliver live, but for how long.

’Supergirl’: ‘Crossfire’ Review

Supergirl  have been focusing on establishing Mon-El in these first couple of episodes and this week it was time to finally put Mon-El into the world with his own secret identity and role. Kara gets Mon-El an internship at CatCo as “Mike” who has more than a few things to learn about not just his job, but how to blend in with humans in general.

When Kara and James are attacked by a gang wielding alien weapons, James starts having enough of being the guy people walk on or being the victim. This prompts James to look into suiting up as a hero and honor his father’s memory while also getting to step out from being the sidekick.

Lena and Kara get to bond quite a bit in this episode as does Lena with Supergirl when she asks the Girl of Steel for some help with dealing with the alien-weapons gang that Project Cadmus distributed weapons to. While Lena do get closer with Kara, the episode ends with a surprise about Lena.

’Gotham’: ‘Blood Rush’ Review

Gotham knows how to turn up the crazy every week and tonight’s episode was no exception as the Gordon returns to the Gotham City Police Department  where Barnes is continuing to lose it as Alice’s blood is infecting him more.

In this episode, Barnes struggles with the blood infection as he starts to lose it both mentally and physically. This however is just good for Jervis as he takes big pleasure in enjoying Barnes’ condition. As Barnes’ condition grows worse, Gordon begins to pick up on Barnes’ behavior.

Meanwhile, Nygma is experiencing some struggle as he begin to worry that he will accidentally kill Isabella too because of how much she reminds him of Ms. Kringle. So he decides to break it off, but asks Penguin to do it for him. Isabella, however, is not willing to give up on their relationship and tries to help Nygma overcome his fears.

While Nygma is dealing with that and Barnes tries to handle his issues, Leslie and Mario have their engagement party which Gordon and Bullock attends. However, Mario and Gordon have their issues on the side as Mario is still not happy with how Gordon handled the situation with Mad Hatter a few weeks ago.

‘Westworld’ 1.06 “The Adversary” Review

 

“The Adversary” took a week away from Dolores, William and Logan (and, thankfully, the wild theories surrounding them) to indulge in some atmospheric character work that felt propulsive, thanks to the ever-impressive Thandie Newton and. This sixth episode of Westworld‘s first season was the first produced after the well-publicized break in production last winter and it shows, thankfully defusing much of the theorizing in favor of actual plot and character progression.

‘Legends Of Tomorrow’: ‘Abominations’ Review

Legends of Tomorrow featured our time traveling heroes in the year of 1863 as a virus arrives in that time and start turning confederate soldiers into horrifying zombies and it’s up to our heroes to stop it.

With Ray’s super-suit being no more, he is benched for this mission as he has to help the team from the Waverider which tends to be more challenging for him than he realized as he begin to question if he has a purpose on the team. Unfortunately, Rory gets infected and is turned into a zombie that Stein and Ray must take on.

While that’s happening on the Waverider, Amaya and Jax have to take on the hardest part of the mission by going undercover in a slave plantation. While he thought he could handle the racism that existed back then, Jax gets a close experience with how difficult it was for African-Americans back then.

Arrow’: ‘Human Target’ Review

Arrow ended on a pretty big cliffhanger last week as Wild Dog was captured by Tobias Church who promised the new Arrow team member that he would give him hell. While Green Arrow does save him from Church, Rene confesses that he gave up Oliver’s secret to Church during the torturing.

After being saved by Lyla and Oliver last week, Diggle made his return to Team Arrow this week, while also keeping a low-profile. As he gets to know the new members a bit better, Diggle takes on a mentor role for Wild Dog. Meanwhile, Oliver tries to get to know Susan Williams a bit better and understand her problems with him. Susan agrees to Oliver’s deal to not throw him any more PR blasts for one month and let him prove that he can be the mayor that Star City needs.

Prometheus isn’t happy with what Church pulled with Wild Dog and tries to end him, but a mystery assassin, working for Church, protects him. Now that Church knows the Green Arrow’s identity, he sends the mystery assassin to go after Mayor Queen. However, Oliver is one step ahead which is where Christopher Chance a.k.a. the Human Target enters the episode as he helps fake Oliver’s death.

’Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’: ‘The Good Samaritan’ Review

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans have fallen in love with the show’s new rider, Robbie Reyes a.k.a. Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) and this week, it was finally time to learn about the origin story of the Spirit of Vengeance. As Robbie decides to be honest with his brother Gabe, the story behind the night that changed their lives forever, is explored.

In the flashbacks, we meet the Reyes brothers before Robbie became Ghost Rider and before Gabe got injured. While that story is also told, the origin of how Lucy became a ghost was revealed as well as Eli Morrow’s involvement with the Momentum Labs project.

As Ghost Rider and S.H.I.E.L.D., after a major clash between him and Director Mace, go to rescue Eli, but as Robbie learns vital information from Lucy, the game is changed. However it’s already a little too late for the heroes as the episode concludes with one chilling moment.
