‘Arrow’: ‘Fighting Fire With Fire’ Review

Arrow 515

Arrow 515Arrow picked up right where it left off last week as Oliver Queen had to deal with the fallout of his actions as mayor in the previous episode for the cover-up of Billy Malone’s death. Oliver has to face city council that would take a vote on whether Oliver gets to continue being Mayor. After the impeachment hearing, Oliver and the team get attacked by The Vigilante during a limo drive. While Dinah and Thea try to take him down, he gets the upper hand at both of them. As he is about to shoot Oliver, the police arrives and The Vigilante makes a run for it.

Dinah is continuing to investigate if Vigilante left anything behind at the crime scene, which he did and she calls the team to have Curtis’ T-Spheres track where it came from. Later on, Vigilante is seen battling Prometheus on a rooftop, but the fight is over pretty quickly as the archer knocks the shooter down from the roof. He unmasks himself and calls the police, as the identity of the Season 5 big bad is revealed. Felicity comes clean with Diggle about her collaboration with Helix for the past few weeks.  Diggle gets worried that Felicity being willing to cross these lines, has to do with Billy’s death. Later in the episode, Felicity contacts her Helix handler and decides to join the organization.

Oliver isn’t allowed to testify at city council, so he decides to hold a press conference where he is planning to do something quite unexpected. The team is aware thought that Vigilante will be there to try and take Oliver out, while he is holding the conference. He explains to the city that the reason he had Billy’s death covered up was because Oliver didn’t want Star City to find out that Green Arrow is actually a cop-killer. Oliver paints the Emerald Archer as Star City’s public enemy and calls for the arrest of the Green Arrow. Later on, he meets up with Susan who has gotten her job back as her name was cleared. Quentin arrives to deliver the good news: the impeachment isn’t happening. When Oliver goes to tell Thea the good news, she is packing up as she has decided to resign, after her recent actions.

The episode ends with Adrian paying Susan a visit, with a “life or death” exclusive and while she kindly declines, that’s not the answer he is looking for.
